Homestead Refuge
Company Overview
Join Homestead Refuge in the fight against sex trafficking by sharing Safety, Healing and Fulfillment with female survivors.
Who We Are
The Homestead Refuge provides transitional housing for survivors of sex trafficking. Our current focus is working with women who have completed a two-year trauma program to become fully independent utilizing a structured, Occupational Therapy program. Our 6-bed home in rural Lincoln County, Nebraska has been renovated and is ready to receive women.
Starting in February 2024, we will provide an annual 12-week Occupational Therapy (residential) “Boot Camp” to up to 6 survivors (only 2 in 2024) who have completed a 2-year trauma program in another residential program. During that period our women will work with our Director, Volunteers, Work Force Development and other community resources to develop an individualized plan and begin building the skills necessary to transition to full independence. The survivors will then have up to 9 months to execute that plan by getting and keeping a job, finding a place to live and moving into their own home. Homestead Refuge will then provide non-residential support to our graduates as they continue to develop their independence.
Our Mission
Homestead Refuge gives female victims of sex trafficking a safe place to heal and learn how to live again.
