Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under general supervision while providing the assessment and appropriate treatment for the development and rehabilitation of the mentally, emotionally and physically impaired patient; based upon the medical diagnosis and the orders given by the physician that are consistent with the accepted occupational therapy standards of practice.
Requirements
OT requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university required.
EXPERIENCE: Six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Current occupational therapy license from the State of Nebraska required. National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) required (or at least be eligible). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) with a recommended renewal date required.
COTA requirements:
EDUCATION: Associate Degree in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
EXPERIENCE: Six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Current certified occupational therapy assistant license from the State of Nebraska required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) with a recommended renewal date required.
